Baramulla, May 29: In a bid to extend healthcare support to underserved communities, the 53 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on Thursday organized a free medical camp at Malpora village in the outskirts of north Kashmir's Baramulla district.

The initiative was held under the CRPF’s Civic Action Programme (CAP) which was inaugurated at Government Middle School Malpora by Commanding Officer 53BN Sanjeev Kumar in the presence of Deputy Commander Prem Pratap Singh and other senior officials.

A large number of residents, including students, elderly men, and women, turned up at the camp to avail free medical consultations and medicines.

Doctors attending the event said that most patients were suffering from common seasonal ailments like cough, cold, and body aches, especially back pain.

CO 53Bn Sanjeev Kumar said the medical camp was part of CRPF’s broader outreach initiative ‘CRPF Madadgar’ of Kashmir Operation Sector of CRPF.

“These camps are aimed at providing basic healthcare services to people in remote areas where medical facilities are limited,” he said.

He said the doctors were specially roped in to treat patients and distribute free medicines among the locals.

He further said that the CRPF is committed to supporting local communities through such humanitarian initiatives, especially in areas having inadequate health care facilities.
