Baramulla, May 31: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla Minga Sherpa on Saturday chaired a meeting of the District level Implementation Committee (DLIC) at the DC Office Complex, here.
The meeting was chaired in a concerted effort to accelerate the implementation of the PM Vishwakarma scheme which focused on assessing the district's progress under the scheme, with particular attention to beneficiary registration, skill development training, distribution of toolkits and loan disbursement status.
While taking a review of the pendency in loan cases, DC Baramulla directed the Lead District Manager (LDM) and all concerned departments to organize dedicated outreach and facilitation camps at the block and panchayat levels.
These camps will help ensure that eligible artisans are provided with timely support, including collateral-free credit, skill training, and modern tools.
Officers from concerned departments briefed the chair about the implementation status, sharing data on training programs, toolkit distribution, and progress in loan sanctioning.
DC also instructed the Rural Development Department to identify any unregistered artisans through field-level staff to ensure 100 percent saturation of the scheme in rural areas.
Additional District Development Commissioner, Joint Director Planning, Assistant Commissioner Development, Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, Principal Industrial Training Institutes, Chief Executive Officers of Municipal Councils and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
