Constable Rameez Memorial league concludes at Kangan

Ganderbal, Nov 21: The first-ever Martyr Police Constable Rameez Memorial Cricket League concluded at Muqam Cricket Ground in Margund, Kangan.

The final match of the league witnessed a thrilling contest and heartfelt tributes to the fallen hero.

The title clash was played between Kunmullah Titans and Kangan Fighters, where kunmullah Titans emerged victorious with an impressive win by 123 runs showcasing dominant batting and disciplined bowling.

SDPO Kangan Rajeev Kumar, SHO Kangan Inspector Lateef Ali, and the father of Martyr Constable Rameez Ahmad attended the event as chief guests.

"The memorial league was organised under the supervision of the Margund Cricket Board with the involvement of local journalist Hadi Hidayat, both of whom played a crucial role in planning and executing the tournament," a handout reads.


Their efforts not only promoted sports in the region but also ensured that the legacy of Martyr Rameez Ahmad continues to be respected and remembered.

SDPO and SHO Kangan emphasized that the tournament aims to inspire youth participation in sports while keeping alive the memories of those who made the supreme sacrifice for the nation. 

The cricket board reiterated its commitment to strengthening sports culture in the area and organizing more such meaningful events.

The final match concluded amid applause, sportsmanship, and heartfelt tributes, reflecting the community’s unity and deep respect for the martyrs.
