Srinagar, Dec 5: The State Investigation Agency (SIA) on Thursday carried out coordinated search raids in Srinagar’s Batamaloo area and in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district in connection with FIR No. 03/2025 registered at the SIA/CIK Police Station.

The case pertains to an ongoing investigation into the circulation and pasting of posters of terrorist organisations in the Nowgam area of Srinagar earlier this year.

According to officials, the case was initially filed at Police Station Nowgam as Video No. 162/2025 before being transferred to the SIA for specialised investigation due to its links with anti-national propaganda networks. The posters in question reportedly carried messaging attributed to banned outfits and were used to create fear, intimidate local residents, and amplify separatist narratives.

Teams of SIA personnel, assisted by local police, conducted early-morning searches at multiple residential and commercial premises. Digital devices, documents, and other materials suspected to have been used in the creation, printing, or distribution of the posters were seized for forensic analysis. Officials said the searches are aimed at uncovering the larger network involved in the dissemination of the material, as well as identifying individuals who may have facilitated or directed the activity.
