Srinagar, Jan 18: The Institute of Business and Policy Research (IBPR) SKUAST-Kashmir organised a one-day Entrepreneurship Awareness Programs (EAP) titled “Entrepreneurship as a source of Independent Livelihood” on 18th January, 2025 at Ignited Minds, Parraypora Srinagar. This program held in collaboration aimed to inspire students to explore entrepreneurial ventures as viable career paths and to sensitise them of future skills required for seizing job opportunities.
The programme was set off by Program Organiser Dr. Omar Fayaz Khan, who provided an insightful overview of the EAP initiatives, emphasising about government promoted entrepreneurship programs at both central and state levels, outlining various schemes and programmes including HADP that were relevant for budding entrepreneurs in agricultural ecosystem.
He underscored the role
importance of SKUAST-K in skill-based education as the foundation for
sustainable career opportunities in Agriculture and allied sectors. He
conducted hands-on session with the participants to self-assess their
leadership skills and where they stood with their entrepreneurial skills.
A felicitation ceremony
followedwherein appreciation certificates were distributed to the
representatives of ignited minds, participants and coordinates for their
contribution and coordination.
The session ended with a vote of
thanks by Jibran Majeed of Ignited Minds who thanked Skuast-K, for promoting
collaborations between institutions.
He highlighted the critical role of entrepreneurship in today’s economy, citing inspiring entrepreneurial leaders and discussing essential leadership qualities that contribute to entrepreneurial success. The event was coordinated by students Fatimah Noor and Sakib Arsalan.
