Jammu man killed by rival gang: Police rules out terror angle in Jammu incident

Jammu , Jan 21: The police on Tuesday ruled out any terror angle in the Jammu firing incident, leaving a man shot dead in the Jewal Chowk area of Jammu.

The top Police official said the incident was the result of gang rivalry. 

Talking to reporters, Additional director general of Police (ADGP), Jammu Anand Jain said the incident was due gang rivalry. 

"The Gataru gang of Vijaypur has attacked a member of its rival group and there was no terrorist angle in the incident," he said.

Earlier, a man, identified as Sumit Jandial (37) of Vijaypur, Samba, was shot dead by some unknown persons in the Jewal Chowk area. Following the incident, Police launched a massive search to nab the attackers.
