CBSE mulls 2 exams for class 10th from 2025-26 academic session

Srinagar Feb 26: In a significant development, the Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE) is mulling to conduct two examinations for class 10th students from 2025-26 academic session.

The decision has been taken in order to provide an opportunity to the students to improve their academic performance.

The move comes in line with the recommendations of the National Education Policy (NEP)- 2020.

"Students will have an opportunity to improve their performance in Board Examinations," the official document reads.

As per the official document, a meeting in this regard was held in the Ministry of Education (MoE) which was chaired by education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

During the meeting, it has been decided that in class 10th, two board examinations be conducted from 2025-26 for which a draft policy will be developed by the authorities.

This draft policy will be hosted on CBSE website for getting response from all stakeholders including, schools, teachers, parents students and general public," the document reads.

In this regard, the draft policy  developed after wider discussion is available on CBSE website.

"Stakeholders may respond to the draft policy by March 9 of 2025 l  The response will be scrutinized and policy be finalized accordingly," it reads.
