VC IUST stresses need for inclusive, student-centric environment rooted in Islamic values & academic excellence

Awantipora, April 15: Vice Chancellor Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) Prof. Shakil Ahmad Romshoo on Tuesday emphasized the importance of creating an inclusive, student-centric environment rooted in Islamic values and academic excellence.

He was speaking during his interaction with the elected representatives of the Student Council of the University.

He encouraged students to take active roles in community-building, innovation, and leadership.

Student Council members appreciated the platform to voice their views and welcomed the Vice Chancellor’s openness and strategic vision for the university.

VC IUST during his interaction with the Student Council emphasized open dialogue, mutual respect, and the importance of student engagement in institutional development.

The Vice Chancellor commended the Student Council for their active involvement in campus life and reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to addressing student concerns.

Discussions centered on academic facilities, student welfare, infrastructure, and upcoming university initiatives.

Dean Academic Affairs Prof. Ayaz Hassan Moon, Registrar IUST Prof. Abdul Wahid Maqdoomi, Deans, and heads of departments were also present in the meeting and interacted with the students and addressed various concerns as well.

The session was coordinated by Dean of Students Dr. Asifa Mehraj Baba, the Student Council Chair, and Coordinator, Advisory Committee to the Student Council Dr. Peer Bilal along with his team.
