Prayagraj, Jan 19: Thousands of devotees are flocking to Prayagraj to participate in the Maha Kumbh, and many have expressed satisfaction with the arrangements made by both the central and state governments.
A standout attraction at the event is a selfie point featuring large cutouts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, drawing long queues of visitors eager to capture the moment.
Devotees like Anand Dubey from Jharkhand praised the cleanliness and security measures, stating, "Swachchta Abhiyaan is being followed properly, and we are not noticing any litter." The police presence has been reassuring, with personnel ready to assist newcomers.
The "Digital Kumbh" initiative is also receiving accolades, allowing pilgrims to access information about food and amenities through a dedicated app. Mukesh, a visitor from Jamshedpur, noted the ease of his journey, thanks to smooth train services and the availability of free tents.
Others echoed similar sentiments. Akash Khare from Mumbai remarked on the well-maintained ghats and the accessibility of toilets.
Sanjay Pande from Lucknow expressed gratitude for the government’s efforts, particularly enjoying the opportunity to take selfies with the political leaders.
In addition to spiritual experiences, vendors at the Mela report thriving business. Sourabh Singh, a small vendor, said, “Trade has increased. There is no dearth of anything,” while Halki Bai from Jabalpur, selling vermillion, noted the provision of free meals for vendors.
The Maha Kumbh, which began on January 13 and runs until February 26, 2025, is anticipated to draw millions of participants. The Indian Railways has enhanced health and safety measures, with well-equipped medical facilities established at key stations, ensuring the well-being of all pilgrims.
