Srinagar, Jan 14: Around 29 students from both government and private higher secondary schools have shared the top three positions in all the streams as JK Board of School Education (JKBOSE) on Wednesday declared the result of class 12th examination. In Science stream, out of 13 students, seven students from different government schools figure in the list of top three position holders. Similarly in Commerce stream, out of six students who have shared the first three positions include three students from the government schools. In Arts Stream, out of seven students who have shared the first three positions include four students from the government school. In Arts Stream the first position has been bagged by a student of Government Higher secondary school Mattan. Meanwhile in Home Science stream, the first three positions have been bagged by the students of Government schools including first two positions by the students of Government Higher Secondary School Kothi Bagh while the third position has been bagged by a student of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Ranibagh Anantnag. As already reported, Girls have outperformed Boys as JKBOSE declared the result of class 12 examination. Overall pass percentage stands at 84.02 in which the pass percentage of boys stands at 82 percent while the girls recorded a higher success rate of 86 percent. According to officials, a total of 70,735 students from Kashmir and the winter zones of Jammu appeared in the examination, out of which 59,435 candidates have successfully cleared it.

According to officials, a total of 70,735 students from Kashmir and the winter zones of Jammu appeared in the examination, out of which 59,435 candidates have successfully cleared it. Girls have outperformed boys in the Class 12 results. While the pass percentage of boys stands at 82 percent, girls recorded a higher success rate of 86 percent. Chairman JKBOSE, Ghulam Hassan Sheikh, confirmed that the results will be officially declared after 2 pm. âAll students are advised to wait for the official declaration of the result, which will be made available on the same platforms used for the declaration of the Class 10 results,â Chairman JKBOSE said. He also cautioned students against relying on fake links circulating on social media platforms, including WhatsApp groups.
Srinagar, Jan 14: The J&K Board of School Education (BOSE) on Wednesday declared the result of the annual class 10th regular annual (2025) examination with an overall pass percentage of 85.03. As per the official figures produced by JKBOSE a total of 94845 students- Boys 47736 and 47109 Girls had enrolled for the class 10th annual examination out of which 80650 students-- 40242 Boys and 40408 girls have qualified the exam with a pass percentage of 85.03percent. The pass percentage of girls has been recorded as 85.78% while the pass percentage of Boys has been recorded as 84.30% respectively. The JKBOSE figures reveal that around 16550 students qualified the exam with grade A1, 14398 (A2), 16014 (B1), 17519 (B2), 13623 (C1), 2525 (C2) and 21 students have been awarded Grade D in the JKBOSE class 10th examination. Also, 11 students have been shown dispute eligibility while 33 students have faced cancellation of exams and four students have been disqualified for one year.

Srinagar, Jan 13: The Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah and education minister Sakina Itoo on Tuesday evening extended their wishes to the students of class 10th and 12th students awaiting of their results. The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) is all set to declare the result of class 10th and 12th students on Wednesday. The result of class 10th students will be declared in morning while the result of class 12th students will be declared in afternoon. In a post on X, Chief Minister extended his best wishes to all Class 10 and 12 students awaiting their examination results. "He expressed hope that their hard work and dedication would be rewarded and encouraged them to remain positive and confident, regardless of the outcome," office of the chief minister J&K posted on its official X handle. Earlier, minister for education Sakina Itoo extended her best wishes to the students of class 10th and 12th awaiting their results. "Wishing the very best to all Class 10th and 12th students of J&K whose results will be declared tomorrow," she wrote on X "May your hard work bring success and new opportunities. Stay calm and confident," the post reads. The minister further advised the students to check their results only on official website and do not click on any fake or misleading links.

New Delhi, Jan 12: The Indian Space Research Organisation's (ISRO) on Monday made the first launch of 2026 with the EOS-N1 Earth observation satellite aboard its PSLV-C62 rocket. The EOS-N1, also called the Anwesha, took off on the 64th flight of the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) at 10:17 am IST from the First Launch Pad (FLP) at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota. "Liftoff! PSLV-C62 launches the EOS-N1 Mission from SDSC-SHAR, Sriharikota," ISRO shared in a post on the social media platform X. The launch aims to enhance Indiaâs remote sensing capabilities across agriculture, urban mapping, and environmental monitoring. The mission, which carries 15 co-passenger satellites, is planned for injection into Sun Synchronous Orbit. âThe PSLV-C62 mission will also demonstrate KID or Kestrel Initial Technology Demonstrator from a Spanish startup, which is a small-scale prototype of a re-entry vehicle being developed by the startup,â the Indian space agency shared before launch. The KID capsule is planned for a re-entry trajectory, according to ISRO. The KID will be the last co-passenger to be injected, after which it is slated to re-enter the Earthâs atmosphere towards splashdown in the South Pacific Ocean. The PSLV-C62 / EOS-N1 Mission is the 9th dedicated commercial mission undertaken by NewSpace India Limited (NSIL), the commercial arm of ISRO. The launch is the fifth to use the PSLV-DL variant with two solid strap-on motors. PSLV has completed 63 flights, including notable missions like Chandrayaan-1, Mars Orbiter Mission, Aditya-L1, and Astrosat Mission. In 2017, PSLV set a world record by launching 104 satellites in a single mission. ISRO undertook the 101st launch endeavour with PSLV-C61 mission, in May, to deploy the 1,696 kg EOS-09 Earth Observation Satellite into a 505 km Sun-Synchronous Polar Orbit. While the initial stages of the flight performed as expected, a technical anomaly in the rocket's third stage prevented the mission from reaching its intended orbit. (IANS)
Baramulla, Jan 13: The Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Minga Sherpa on Tuesday said that the Home Department has sanctioned over 500 bunkers to be constructed along the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri area of the district. He said that the Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Uri has identified the locations for the construction of these these bunkers. âThese bunkers will be constructed within 5 km of the Line of Control, especially in villages that become targets during cross-border shelling,â DC Baramulla, Minga Sherpa told reporters here. He was speaking on the sidelines of the inauguration of upgraded park at premises of the DC office Baramulla on Tuesday. The park has been developed to provide a comfortable and pleasant environment for visitors coming to the DC Office for various official purposes. he upgradation includes the installation of seating arrangements, a music system to enhance the ambience, and improved lighting arrangements. The park has also been illuminated with tri-colour lighting, adding to its aesthetic appeal and symbolising national pride. On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the importance of creating citizen-friendly and welcoming spaces within government offices, aimed at improving the overall experience of visitors. "The initiative reflects the commitment of the district administration to enhance the public infrastructure and creating more pleasant and accessible environment at the DC Office premises," the handout reads.
Srinagar, Jan 12: Awami Itihaad Party (AIP) Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi on Monday referred to the letter written by MP Baramulla Er Rashid to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh seeking compensation and rehabilitation for the families of two porters who lost their lives in Baramulla. Quoting the letter, Inam Un Nabi said Er Rashid has drawn the Defence Ministerâs attention to the âtragic demise of two porters Lyakat Ahmad Deedar and Riyaz Ahmad Khattana residents of Chandosa, Baramulla, who lost their lives after slipping down from a high-altitude mountain while performing duties in Gujjar sectors.â Inam Un Nabi said the MP Er Rashid has clearly stated that the Defence Ministry âshould frame a reasonable policy to provide job security to portersâ and that those who lose their lives while working with forces in âtough terrain, high altitude and harsh conditions must be treated at par with Agniveer soldiers.â Quoting further, Inam Un Nabi said Er Rashid has emphasized that âthe families of the deceased porters need full and concrete financial support,â and that it is the duty of the ministry to ensure proper rehabilitation of such families. The MP has also requested that the bereaved families be provided âthe same legal financial assistance which an Agniveer soldier is entitled to if he loses his life in the line of duty,â along with a government job to at least one family member of each deceased porter. Inam Un Nabi said the letter reflects Er Rashidâs consistent stand for the rights and dignity of porters working in extreme conditions and urged the Defence Ministry to respond with immediate and tangible relief.
Bandipora, Jan 12: A Border Security Force (BSF) constable died after a fire broke out in a barrack of the 62nd Battalion camp in north Kashmirâs Bandipora district late last night, officials said. An official said that the incident occurred in the Madar area of Bandipora, where a fire engulfed the barrack, completely gutting the structure. The constable, who was inside at the time, could not be rescued and was charred to death. The body was later shifted to the District Hospital Bandipora for medico-legal formalities, after which it will be sent to his native place. The deceased has been identified as Ramesh Kumar, a resident of Jalandhar, Punjab. Authorities have taken cognizance of the incident. (KNO)

The calendar beautifully encapsulates the essence of the Valleyâs artistic heritage, highlighting the skill, dedication and commitment of the regionâs artisans â the true custodians of Kashmirâs cultural legacy. âThis calendar is an ode to the artisans who weave, carve and colour Kashmirâs soul," CM Omar Abdullah said. 'Results likely to get delayed in absence of Chairman' Jammu, Jan 7: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) on Wednesday said the result of the class 10th examinations will be declared soon after the appointment of the Chairman of the Board. The statement comes amid the uncertainty about the declaration of the results by JKBOSE. In an official handout issued here, JKBOSE has advised students not to pay heed to fake links and websites announcing declaration of class 10 results. "Result of class 10th will be declared within few days soon after the appointment of new Chairman," the statement reads. The JKBOSE has stated that the results of annual examination of class 10 of Kashmir valley and winter zone areas of Jammu Division are almost ready. "But its approval by Result Declaration Committee headed by BOSE Chairman is a pre- requisite before its declaration. In absence of the Chairman the results are likely to get a little delayed," it reads. The JKBOSE officials have advised the students to wait for the formal declaration on the official website of the Board- www.jkbose.nic.in. "Students should not get misled by scamesters and fake narratives circulated by some mischievous elements, whose sole aim is to create confusion in the innocent student community," the statement reads.
